Here are a few more sketches from sketchbooks past. The top one is my attempt at comic book style illustration and the bottom is an old sneak a sketch from the MUNI in San Francisco. New sketches coming SOON.

Sketchbook Swoops

I really want to post drawings from my upcoming installation, but I don't want to spoil it before it's up! So for now here's one from the sketchbook. This was drawn after a delicious Thai dinner before seeing The Sandwitches, Calvin Johnson, and Sonny and the Sunsets at Cherry Sprout Produce. Now THAT'S a summer day.

The reason for my post hiatus is because I was in Oakland all weekend for a wedding, far away from a scanner. Here's a page out of my sketchbook when I was down there. The bottom scene is from Lake Merritt. I think I'd like to do more architectural sketches or "urban landscapes," if you will.

Ani-mal-function

I've noticed a few more people are following the blog these days. Thanks a lot and welcome aboard. I hope you find what you're looking for here, as long as what you're looking for is drawings. If you're looking for something else, like pie for instance, you should go elsewhere. Perhaps here. And to all you regular readers who aren't official "followers" you might want to consider signing up. All you have to do is scroll down and look on the right where it lists "followers" and click the button! Then you'll always know when there's new stuff posted and you get to see your snazzy little profile pic in that little box. Not to mention the more followers I have, the more money I get (in my head).



I bought this book a few months ago, not quite sure what I was going to do with it. I certainly wasn't going to read it, but the illustrations inside are really cool and inspirational. Almost as much as the cover. I've decided to try using it as a sketchbook to see if I get any neat effects from the worn and yellowed paper and text covered pages. Below is my first attempt.



In other news, my computer has decided to work today for some reason, but I'm not holding my breath for long. At least this allowed me to update my ipod and eject the library cd that was stuck in the drive. Here's to not having to buy the library a new audio copy of A Confederacy of Dunces!
