RIP Harvey

"Am I a guy who writes about himself in a comic, or am I just a character in that comic?"



I was really sorry to hear about the passing of Harvey Pekar this past Monday, at the age of 70. He's definitely one of the most unique individuals to come into the public consciousness, and I'm sorry that we won't get to enjoy any new stories from him in the future. Last night we paid tribute by watching American Splendor outside by the firepit. Here's a video of one of his more infamous visits to Late Night with David Letterman.

I wanted to show off the amazing mug Stephanie got me for my birthday so here's a drawing of it! We've been admiring the ceramic work of Dan and Laurie Hennig at a local gallery here for a while so I'm especially happy to have my very own piece by them. I haven't done a still life drawing in a while so this was also a good opportunity to work on my chops.
